About EFMA
The Evangelical Fellowship of Mission Agencies (EFMA) was founded in 1947 as a voluntary association of missional entities committed to discipling the nations. Its primary focus is the leadership of member agencies.
EFMA:
- is governed by a board of directors elected by the membership of the association
- has approximately 100 member agencies, representing more than 20,000 North American cross-cultural workers worldwide
- is associated with the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE)
- through the WEA Missions Commission, EFMA relates to the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA)
- enjoys a strategic alliance with the Christian Stewardship Association (CSA)
- has a sister ministry, Advancing Churches in Mission Commitment (ACMC), which exists to assist local churches in understanding and fulfilling their missional calling
EFMA Member Agencies:
- enjoy the credibility that comes from identification with one of the world's most respected accrediting bodies
- have a strong commitment to cooperation within the Evangelical Missional community
- are focused on the cross-cultural component of World Evangelization
- demonstrate effective governance structures with independent boards of directors
- are committed to high standards of financial accountability
- adhere to high ethical standards for promotion and reporting of program activities
- avoid questionable or misleading fundraising practices
